Someone suggested to me that I should paint a series of my own versions of the most known Middle-earth weaponry, known from Tolkiens books and from rpg sourcebooks made by Iron Crown Enterprises.
This is the 5th ME weaponry painting, many more to come.
Sauron "the Abhorred" was seduced by Morgoth before the making of Arda. He was the greatest of Aule's PEople and the most powerful of the Maiar, save (perhaps) Eonwe and Ilmare. Skilled in all crafts and a master of diplomacy, he proved a formidable servant of the Black Enemy. Until Morgoth's fall, Sauron was his only lieutenant.
The Shadow Mace - a magical black, ithilnaur mace which glows red within the presence of an Elf. Only Sauron can wield the mace with all it's magical abilities. The mace becomes instantly invisible whenever the wielder concentrates this desire.
The One Ring - A seemingly normal gold band, the One Ring will adjust to it's wearers size or if it so desires, it will epand to fall from the wearer's finger whenever the ring feels the wearer is unsuitable. A ringwearer is invisible although Sauron can be visible at will. It is the most powerfull rings of all that have been made in Middle-earth. Later to be in the hands of Bilbo, then Frodo Baggins before it is destroyed.

True, but it does say somewhere I think that it was stolen or passed onto Sauron. As he was the only person left to take over after Melkor's imprisonment. However that doesn't mean that Sauron would/could wield Grond lol.
Btw amazing work, interesting style with the winged gargoyles.
Grond was Melkor/Morgoths weapon
still, i think it would be a mess to remove the stench and the stains of enemy brains from the top of the balrog shaped part.
I prefer weapons type staffs can you make one?^^
