Middle-earth -Stereoscopic 1 by Shockbolt Middle-earth -Stereoscopic 1 by Shockbolt
Didn't take me long before I too was bitten by the Stereoscopic bug that's going around these days :D

I came across a superb upload by someone this weekend and was in awe by the 3D effect You could produce by such simple means as fiddling around with an image in Photoshop and using nothing but Your own eyes to see it on the screen.

So I decided to create some of my own, starting simple to begin with, then move on to much complex pieces with lots of action.

This is a compilation of 3 of my previous posted deviations here, a bunch of Middle-earth inspired weapons, now made stereoscopic so that You can view them in 3D! How cool is that? :D

PS. I'm not to blame by You destroying Your monitor, trying to grab them in the air :XD:

Enjoy, and if You don't know how to view stereoscopic images, go to this site and read the simple instructions:

Do not use my images for any reason without my written permission. Further rules about use can be found on my main page here on DA.

if weapons could taste that way, these would be sweet.

AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! It's fucking killing my brain!!! I like your weapons though, but this effect will probably blind your enemies first so it's easier to kill them :D

And there's more coming up!
I've already made the Gandalf VS The Balrog into 3D and I'll be creating two more before I post them here, might be within a couple of days :)

It's a bit hard to begin with, if You can't focus properly crosseyed then the 3D effect won't appear, and You'll only see the "third" image as a blurry version of the two others. That said, there's also those that due to how their eyes are made, can't view stereoscopic images, or that the images should have been flipped. I'm no expert, just re-discovered this effect myself this weekend :D

huh, try as I might, I can't do it. I can't even get the blury images... seems I'm incapable of corssing my eyes. Oh well guess all Ill ever see in these stereoscopic images is 2 paralel images and just keep wondering what the magical efect would look like...

Did You try it the way it's described in the link?

yes... of course. I just can't seem to focuse my eyes at 2 different things at the same time... let alone crisscrossing them... I understand HOW it's suposed to work, and I understand even the mechanics behind how you painted each side of the image ( they are obviously not identical copies )... I just can't control my eyes individually it seems...

If you use something thin (like a pencil) to focus on, it might work- it helped me to get the three blurry pictures :)

Well, my right eye hurts too at the moment... I figured out that looking at it at a great distance helps a little bit :P
