The gelatinous green cube by Shockbolt The gelatinous green cube by Shockbolt
I think there's been too little credit awarded to the fearsome dungeon encounter: the gelatinous green cube. :-p
This silent stalker that devours and digests the unlucky adventurer to leave only bones and equipment left trapped inside it, until in the end they drop out of the cube and is left in a pool of acidic ooze.

It's meant to be alittle funny..hence the looks of the characters in it

Idea completed: Party of adventurers stumble upon something unknown..a large cube of green ooze. and before they know it, the little guy has to touch. As he does, tentacles starts to spawn and his two friends draw weapons (probably not the first time the little fellow has got them into a scuffle)

Painted over a few evenings, several layers and as in 9,9 out of 10 paintings: no reference used.

Ask for permission before using this image for any reason.

Photoshop and a wacom intuos tablet used.

Oh this is lovely. Do you mind terribly much if I appropriate this (with your sig intact, obviously) as the header image for my level-0 D&D campaign's Roll20 page?

I laugh every time I looks at this piece. Oh how I'd love to encounter a gelatinous cube myself. I'd probably end up being the rogue who goes and messes thing sup for the rest. I've done so in many adventures before...

Hi! I love the art. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to use this in a set of personal cards for use by myself and friends. They won't be sold, and you will be credited on the card. If you have an objection to this personal use, let me know, and I'll change the picture to something else. Thanks!

I hate to be "that guy", but it's supposed to be practically invisible, not glowing green. Regardless, nice pic ^-^
It's also my favorite monster. I have spent probably 40 hours of my life figuring out how to make one as a character.

Oh I think there are more versions than just one type of cubes like these, depending on the creator, type of game world, type of rpg system and other factors involved :)

Thanks for commenting and for the feedback!

Ahahahaha, I love these things! :DD
I seem to remember one group where someone actually played one as a PC...

We also discovered the way to defeating them from the inside out... just pretend that it really is lime jello. x3

When I first started playing D&D in the late 70's, I hated these things. First, how can you get excited over a large cube of lime jello? Second, none of the cool weapons you were carrying had any effect on it. And third, the D.M. always made sure you were in a blocked passageway before he sprang it on you. I wish this group luck. Where's that darned sorceress when you need her!

Excellent, although - I just don't think the tentacles coming off the cube really work with it. In a strange way, I think it'd be funnier to just have it be about as offensive as a moving wall, the jello jiggler from hell. :D

But it didn't take me long to find out that the game creator has stolen images from my site and used it for the game. I guess I have a lawsuit on my hands after this, I'll make him bleed :XD:

I supposed, so. If makes you a little bit less angry, the game is free and print-and-play.
Maybe you should just ask him to make the right credits for the arts. He's probabbly not winning much on your work, but he should know that stoling images is very wrong.

Congrats on your artwork, by the way. :)

Oh this happens every now and then, and I wouldn't mind if they just took the time to ask for permission and/or give credit to the people who did the actual work.

What's worse is those who use the artwork and earn money from it. I've had a few of those too, mainly facebook games.

I recognized other images within the Delve game and have alerted the artists as well.
